We returned to the next phase of a project at Golden Jubilee Hospital in Glasgow this week, following a successful completion of the last phase.

The works consist of the cutting back of the entrance wall to suit the new lift entrance alignment, then rebuilding following a detail that allows the integrity to be achieved as well as fire stopping the gap around the new entrance. There are some penetration gaps where voids have been cut into the existing shaft wall, so these will be sealed during the same visit.

There are two lifts to complete in the same visit, so lessons learned from the previous phase will allow us to improve the process and minimise disruption for the installation team and the end client. Further photos will follow!
