Following a call from a new client who could not hand their project over until the damage to the top of the lift shaft was repaired, we immediately sprung into action to answer the demand. Luckily we had installation technicians in the area at the time, so following a quick survey we were able to order material and complete the RAMS ready for the attendance the very next morning.
The return visit was booked in for an early start to allow the works to be completed before the building users were back in attendance, the repair to the shaft boarding was completed without delay, leaving the shaft with an improved integrity. Moreover, this allowed the customer to return the lift into active service in support of the building residents and visitors.
Following on from such a speedy response, the client then issued a further order to attend another site with exactly the same issue, which of course we were happy to attend and address appropriately.
In both cases the fire board hadn’t been installed correctly, and there was no additional sealing around the perimeter or joins, but this was addressed and completed to give the required rating.
