we recently reported that we had been awarded a refurbishment project at one of our clients buildings in Gateshead. We are now just over half way through the programme of work, and happy to report that it is all on track for a timely completion.
There have been several site visits and audits from both the client, and the authorities, but all were given a glowing report and acknowledgment to the quality of work being carried out.
with this being an active building, the focus is in the detail, preparation with floor protection in advance and systematically completing the works one floor at a time to prevent prolonged impact to the residents. There are multiple penetrations on each floor for all the services that feed into each apartment. There are also linear head of wall seals that have to be removed and re-installed along with a number of pat-tress fit batt and mastic seals.
Throughout this project our team have recorded all before and after images, providing a technical summary of what work has been carried out and to what detail. They have also recorded phased logs of photographs and text to show the internal diameters that have been cut out of the supporting wall and depth of backing material added before sealing with the required tested detail. This will culminate in a final report using the Fieldwire reporting software which will give the client the detail needed for compliance in the future.
